This offers you a tour around the capital (Antananarivo) and if you do not want to drive more than 03 hours this is the tour to choose.
It shows you the centre of the highland culture and gives you the chance to explore the city as well as the surrounding countryside. In this tour, you will see the different places as Andasibe , Ampefy, Anjozorobe , Ambohimanga rova
Itinerary
Day 1: Antananarivo
Today is an arrival day, so you are free to arrive at any time. Upon arrival in Antananarivo's Ivato Airport, you are met by a representative and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure before meeting in the evening for dinner at our hotel.
Day 2: Antananarivo
After the breakfast, we will drive to Blue hill “Analamanga”was the original capital of Merina royal family, you will visit the fortress palace of all- powerful Merina King Andrinampoinimerina. Lunch in the Restaurant. After lunch drive back to center then continue to Tsimbazaza park, the botanical garden gathers sample of Malagasy flora and introduces some species of foreign flora, it was became a place for exhibition, conservation and made up a show case of Malagasy biodiversity Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Antananarivo-Anjozorobe (2h driving)
After breakfast we will drive to Anjozorobe which is one of the last vestiges of dense rainforest on the high plateau and harbors an enormous biodiversity. With 11 species of lemurs, 82 species of birds (of which 43 are endemic) and 423 different types of plants, this forest is a dreamland for nature lovers.
We have some time at leisure to explore the forest with a choice of short walks, a chance to learn about traditional crayfish trapping or a visit to the local essential oil distillery. Tonight we also take a night walk to try to spot the many nocturnal animals that habitat in the forest. Our accommodation for the night is at Mananara Lodge. This lodge works hand in hand with NGO Fanamby to help protect the environment and involve the local inhabitants in ecotourism.
Day 4: Anjozorobe – Andasibe (5h driving)
After an early breakfast, we visit the local school. Here we have time to meet the students (depending on time of year) and donations are also welcome. After our school visit we stop for lunch in Antananarivo before continuing on to Andasibe where you will spot the largest lemur in MADAGASCAR called “IndriIndri” and others species of Fauna. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 5: Andasibe (Réserve Perinet)-Tana (3h driving)
Visit of rainforest of Analamazaotra at Perinet: the forest with 810hectares gives home to 09 species of lemurs among which the spectacular Indri Indri and hear their haunting “singing call”. A part from lemurs, the forest is also a good place to see birds, chameleons, orchids. Mild hiking provides a good opportunity to experience the abundant flora and fauna of the eastern rain forest.
After the visit we will drive back to Antananarivo then stop over at Reptiles Park. Visit Mandraka Park, here you can see some of endemic chameleons, snakes, insects and reptiles of Madagascar. After here, continue back to Antananarivo. Diner and night at the hotel.
Day 6: Antananarivo- Ampefy (3h driving)
After early breakfast, we will drive towards Ampefy, through at former International Airport of Arivonimamo; this route leads to the land of extinct volcanoes and large herbs of zebu. We are in the highland profound with its small red villages overlooking the mountains. From now and then, we’ll see red rivers and streams in the middle of rice fields. What are quite impressing are the deep valleys with much erosion forming a strange landscape. Upon arrival, check your hotel then after lunch have walk in around Itasy Lake. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 7: Ampefy
After breakfast, visit of “the Chute de Lilly”, an impressive waterfall of 7 km from the hotel. Then if time and your physical condition allow, we can visit the “Geysers of Andanomandraotra” which is situated about 12 km from Ampefy with a very bad road. In the afternoon, drive back to Kavitaha Hotel where you will have dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Ampefy –Antananarivo
After breakfast, we will drive back to Antananarivo; stop over at Lemur’s PARK where you will discover 9 species of lemur and a botanical park with approximately hundred tree and endemic plants in Madagascar. Upon arrival, transfer to your city hotel or onward arrangements.
Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day 9: Tana –Europe
Transfer to Airport then fly back to your country
