The chameleons of Madagascar will be present as part of the luminous festival of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris. The festival, entitled “En voie d’illumination”, will showcase the flora and fauna of tropical forests, and will take place from January 21 to 24, 2024 at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris. The exhibition will feature a hundred or so selections of rainforest flora and fauna from 04 continents: Asia, Oceania, South America and Africa.
This time, the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle aims to raise public awareness of the need to preserve tropical rainforests, home to more than half the world’s plant and animal species. The chameleons of the Big Island are a particular case in point, with almost 60 species – over half of all known species – endemic to Madagascar.
