The adventure trip along the RN5
The briefing will be organized with the client the day before leaving. From Tamatave to Soanieran’Ivongo will take 03h30 or 04h00 drive on bumpy asphalt roads. From then on, we will have to queue up waiting for our first ferry crossing. The wait of Soanieran’Ivongo ferry can last 30mn or even 1h and more. Therefore, better to get there before 11h00 Ante Meridiem.
If you booked a BB package, the breakfast will be served with warm beverage, rusk or cake, fruits, natural juices all along the road. If not, our tour guide will show a place where you will be able to have breakfast.
Day 1 : Tamatave - Soanieran’ Ivongo – Manompana
Packing and loading of the luggages at 06h00 and leaving Tamatave at 06h30 Ante Meridiem. And then, we will leave Soanieran’Ivongo depending on our ferry crossing tour. The transfer will last around 30mn. Once arrived at the other side, we will be heading straight towards to Manompana, and it’s the beginning of our beautiful adventure and discoveries.
Picnic lunch along the road can be at your own expenses or ours according to your booking.
Our picnic lunch will include a starter, a main course and a simple dessert.
Overnight at Bon Ancrage hotel or in a tent if the hotel is already full (Private bathroom and shower with cold water). It’s a basic hotel and the only possibility of the day
Day 2 : Manompana – Antanambe – Sahasoa
Leaving very early in the morning, we have to leave the hotel at 4:30 A.M in order to catch the first next ferry. In here again, we have to queue up. The ferry crossing will take 15 to 30 mn.
Enjoying breakfast in morning beautiful sunrise while waiting for the ferry.
And of course, the adventure continues until Sahasoa. You will have a beautiful view of the Antafana Island.
Overnight at the MNP’s gite or in a tent (It’s a basic hotel and the only possibility of the day)
NOTE: for this second day, you will have an opportunity to visit the Antafana island by taking a boat from Antanambe, and the car will be waiting for you in Sahasoa.
Day 3 : Sahasoa - Mananara Nord
Leaving the hotel early in morning and heading straight towards to Mananara-Nord. We don’t know exactly how much time it will take to arrive in Mananara Nord because it depends significantly on the status of the track but we will do our best to reach there at 17h00.

Overnight at Chez Roger hotel 1* or similar. (Private bathroom and shower with hot water)
Note: In Mananara, at Chez Roger hotel, even we have made a booking and confirmation of the rooms have been booked, they may, however, give our rooms to another client who came before us. The bookings and confirmations are made only over phone call.
Day 4 : Mananara Nord
Breakfast at the hotel. And you will have free day until nightfall. An evening visit will be organized before dinner to see Aye Aye (nocturnal lemur).
Overnight at Chez Roger hotel 1* or similar. (Private bathroom and shower with hot water)
Day 5 : Mananara Nord – Maroantsetra
We’ll leave the hotel before the sunrise at 05h00 Ante Meridiem. We will have breakfast on the road. Now we’re ending our last day of the adventure on the National Road number 5 (RN5) and heading to Maroantsetra.
We don’t know exactly how much time it will take to arrive in Maroantsetra because it depends significantly on the status of the track and indeed the availability of ferries for each transfert but we will do our best to get there before 19h00. This track normally keep us about 12 to 15hours drive

Overnight at Masoala Resort hotel (Hot water, rooms overlooking the sea)
